About Us

Welcome to the Sea Island Heritage Society. Our goal is to provide you with an interactive website that brings together the history of our pioneers and present citizens, and to create a wider understanding and appreciation of our island's “collective memory".

The Sea Island Heritage Society is a small registered charity dedicated to collecting, cataloguing, recording and disseminating the history of Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. It is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.

The Sea Island Heritage Society was organized on February 20, 2001 as the “Sea Island Heritage Society” and registered under the provincial Societies Act on September 5, 2001. On March 13, 2002, the society was registered as a “not-for-profit” charity under the Income Tax Act (Canada).

The Sea Island Heritage Society meets monthly at the Sea Island Community Centre. It also hosts a few open houses and other events throughout the year. Visit our site regularly for new events.

Calendars and Memberships

Our small society relies on the sale of its calendars and donations to continue its research. Please contact the Sea Island Heritage Society if you wish to buy a calendar. The $20.00 fee includes your annual membership - mailing is extra.
